Exploring Paris

We started our second day in Paris with an authentic French Baguette and coffee from the little cafe across from the Air BnB. Then off to the Eiffel Tower. It always a cool moment when you see an world famous landmark for the first time. It always looks and feels different in person than it does in photos. We didn’t go up, just took some photos in the garden next to the tower. Then we made our way across town to find the The Basilica of the Sacred Heart. We walked most of the way including up the very steep hill to the church. Once inside it was also MANY more narrow steps up to the large dome at the top with the view. But it was well worth the journey. The interior of the church and the views from the top were incredible. After leaving we saw a very talented street performer entertaining a crowd and I was “swindled” into buying woven bracelet buy some guys hanging out nearby (long story). But for sunset we made our way back to the Eiffel tower area because I wanted to get some photos of it lit up at night. Ági had to wait in a ridiculously long line to use the only public restroom in the outdoor area around the tower (about a 1 hour wait). But she made it in time to see the sparking light show they do and for us to get some nice photos.
